Summer CSA | Fall/Winter CSA

What is a CSA?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Members of the community purchase "shares" of the season's harvest before the growing season. Shareholders pickup up their share of the harvest each week at the designated pickup locations. This arrangement provides the farmer with much needed financial stability at the beginning of the growing season and provides the shareholder with the freshest and highest quality produce.

The environmental and social repercussions of our food choices are crucial to consider in a society where most food travels thousands of miles before it reaches our tables. As a CSA shareholder you will be actively preserving local farms as well as enjoying the freshest, most affordable produce that is harvested for you daily.

More information on the definition and history of CSA's can be found here.

2012 Vegetable Share

There are two vegetable share options for the 2012 summer season:

Regular Share - contains enough vegetables to feed a family of four or two vegetarian adults.

Small Share - contains enough vegetables to feed two adults who only eat vegetables on a light to moderate basis.

The season runs from mid-June through October, approximately 19 weeks depending on growing conditions.

In our CSA distribution model, a re-usable grocery tote bag is pre-packed for you on a weekly basis. All the vegetables contained in the bag have been pre-sorted for grade A quality, field washed, bagged and weighed. All you need to do is bring back your re-usable tote bag from the previous week and pickup your new bag. There is no need to sort through bins trying to find the best tomato or having to pick your own green beans, we have already done the work for you.

There are no work requirements when joining this CSA.

Please visit the Our Products page to find a list of all the different vegetable varieties that we will be growing this year. The Harvest Schedule shows approximate timeframe that each vegetable will be available.

Download the application form under the How Do I Join? section below for the pickup location you are interested to get the current pricing.

2012 Fruit Share Add-On

This year we will again be partnering with other local farmers to provide a fruit share add-on to the vegetable share. The cost for this add-on is $125. While this fruit is not organic it is grown using IPM practices and grown by farmers in our immediate area. With this add-on you will receive fruit for approximately a 15 week period to be picked up along with your vegetable share. The varieties of fruit planned for this year include strawberries, cherries, peaches, nectarines, plums, various melons, blueberries, and many varieties of apples. There is only one size for this add-on (no small shares).

2012 Egg Share Add-On

We are adding an Egg Share option for this coming year. By purchasing the egg share option you will receive a dozen eggs each week from our own pastured raised, organic fed chickens. If you would like more than one dozen eggs each week, you can just purchase as many egg share options as you want to equal the number of dozen you want each week. One egg share option costs $76, which works out to $4/dozen for 19 weeks. We will no longer be offering a discount to all shareholders, the discount will only apply to those that purchase the egg share. We may or may not have extra eggs for sale at the pickups. If we do they will be priced at $5/dozen. Visit our Egg page to get more information on how we raise our chickens.
